The Small Cyclades
Apologies first of all, we are a little behind with our blogs!
We departed Milos on the 9th July, heading off for a whistle stop tour of the Small Cyclades before heading off to Santorini to meet Dave & Lynne. After a fabulous sail in a NW 4 to 5 our first stop was Andiparos, a beautiful bay with nothing but a couple of Tavernas, said to be protected from the Meltemi winds, which were now gusting Force 6. We soon learned it meant protected from the seas kicked up from the winds, but not the winds themselves. The holding was however good for our anchor so we stayed on board for the night, watching a beautiful sunset.

The following morning, we set sail again for the beautiful most eastern island of the “Small Cyclades”, Koufonisia and wow how stunning the waters were, the pictures say it all…

We stayed there for a couple of days exploring the little town.
We then headed over to the tiny island of Iraklia with its pontoon large enough for 3. Luckily we arrived in good time and nabbed the last place, or so we thought, until the lead boat of a flotilla of 5 turned up and moored alongside the fishing boat next to us, getting ready to tie up the others in his group. Iraklia comprised of one tiny street, a supermarket, a couple of tavernas, and of course a church. It was very quaint.

We left the following day, our next stop, Santorini!
