2017 – We are on our way!

After a week of work, delayed by periods of torrential rain and some stupidity on our account, by spending 2 days trying to trace a lack of pressure to two taps from the cold water feed. Having taken a number of connections apart to check for blockages, our friendly boatyard owner Dennis, decided to check the filters on the taps, only to discover that they were clogged up, 5 minutes later the problem was solved, doh.. We were treated to a free air display by the Red Arrows, who are spending a chunk of time based about 15 mins from our boatyard.

We finally launched Seaclusion at 8am to calm waters and no wind.

Lovely bay, with one cafe and one restaurant, only problem was the restaurant was shut, I cannot understand for the life of me, why they missed the opportunity of feeding the best part of 30 yachties that were on various boats anchored in their bay, but hey-ho.. I learnt that the large wind farms actually turned into the wind, rather than being fixed, but at night time with all their red lights on, Chantal thought that the Red Arrows were coming towards us for a fly past !!   ( the first blonde moment ) !

Karystos, Southern most top of Evia, ready to head to the Cyclades.

Nothing much to report apart from mooring up alongside an ex Coffee commodity broker from New York, who has been sailing his boat for the best part of 30 years with his wife, and meeting a lovely German couple from Dortmund Dirk & Connie, who invited us onto their yacht last night for after dinner drinks, during which time they were explaining to us that they had forgone one of their cabins, so they could include a generator, water-maker and a e-bike, which Chantal commented on, saying so you ride your bike in your cabin to generate electricity, which had everyone falling around laughing, Chantal would say that it was a alcohol induced blonde moment number 2 !

The weather is colder than both Spain and the UK currently with rain forecasted for Saturday, so I think we will be staying put until Sunday before heading off to the first island of the Cyclades group, Andros.
